Everything you need to know about Trivd — the free trivia app built for people who actually care about trivia.

The Basics

Yes — Trivd is completely free to download on iOS and Android. The free version gives you full access to all four game modes and a rotating selection of topics. You can play unlimited games without spending a cent. Trivd Pro removes ads if you want a cleaner experience.

Trivd is available on iOS (iPhone and iPad) and Android. You can also play the free Daily Challenge and use the Trivia Night Generator right here on the website without downloading anything.

Trivd is built by Courtright Collective LLC — a small independent app studio based in Nashville, TN. We're not a big tech company. Just a family of builders making things we'd actually want to use.

The free version of Trivd includes ads. Upgrading to Trivd Pro removes all ads for a cleaner experience. We keep ads minimal and non-intrusive — we're not trying to blow up your game every 30 seconds.

Game Modes

Trivd has four game modes: Speed Duel (1v1 — first correct answer wins), Accuracy Mode (multiplayer — most correct answers wins), Bar Mode (2–6 players on one device, perfect for trivia nights and parties), and Chaos Mode (power-ups, point steals, and total mayhem). Each mode plays completely differently.

Speed Duel is a head-to-head 1v1 mode where both players see the same question at the same time. The first player to tap the correct answer wins the round. Speed matters just as much as knowledge — a buzzer-beater feels just as good as knowing the answer cold.

Bar Mode is designed for groups playing together in the same room on one device. 2–6 players take turns, questions are read aloud, and last place every round faces consequences decided by the group. No separate app download needed for other players — just pass the phone.

For Speed Duel and Accuracy Mode, your friends need the Trivd app downloaded to join. Create a room, share the room code, and they can join in seconds. For Bar Mode, only one person needs the app — everyone else just participates verbally.

Chaos Mode throws the standard rules out the window. It includes power-ups (like point multipliers and answer reveals), the ability to steal points from other players, and randomized modifiers that keep every round unpredictable. It's the mode for when you want a good time more than a fair fight.

Questions & Topics

Trivd has thousands of questions across all categories, with more being added regularly. Each topic is built to have enough depth to keep games fresh over time — you won't see the same questions on repeat every session.

Free topics include General Knowledge, Sports, Music, Geography, Science, Pop Culture, Math, Guess the Emoji, Animals, and Bizarre Fun Facts. Expansion packs unlock specialty categories. More topics are in development and released regularly.

Each topic has a mix of easy, medium, and hard questions — roughly 40% easy, 35% medium, and 25% hard. The difficulty spread keeps games competitive whether you're playing with casual friends or hardcore trivia nerds. Hard questions are genuinely hard, not just obscure for the sake of it.

Yes — every question in Trivd is verified for accuracy before it makes it into the game. If you ever spot a question that seems wrong, contact us at [email protected] and we'll review it immediately.

Daily Challenge & Website Tools

The Daily Challenge is a free 5-question trivia quiz available on this website every day. Each day gets a new witty, specific topic — the same questions for everyone worldwide. Your streak is tracked locally so you can see how many days in a row you've played. No account required.

The Trivia Night Generator builds a complete pub quiz for you in seconds. Pick your topics from the Trivd library or let AI choose witty, unexpected ones. Select the number of rounds, difficulty, and questions per round, and you'll get a full printable trivia night — with a host answer sheet and toggle to show/hide answers. It costs $2.49 per generation.

Absolutely — that's what it's built for. The questions are designed for pub quiz format, the answers are formatted cleanly for a host sheet, and there's a print button that formats everything for paper. Use it for house parties, office events, bar nights, fundraisers, whatever you've got.

Yes — after completing the Daily Challenge, hit the Copy Score button to get a shareable emoji scorecard (🟩🟥🟩🟩🟥) with your streak and topic. Drop it anywhere — iMessage, Instagram, group chat, wherever.

Scoring & Stats

Points are awarded for correct answers, with bonuses for answering quickly and building streaks. A streak multiplier kicks in when you answer multiple questions correctly in a row — 2x, 3x, and beyond. The faster and more accurate you are, the higher your score climbs.

Yes — Trivd tracks your best score, win rate, best streak, average score, favorite topic, and favorite game mode. Without an account, stats are stored on your device. Create a free account to save your stats and keep them across devices.
